I Accidentally Overheard My Son’s Boyfriend’s Phone Call — And Immediately Called The Police
I raised my son alone after my husband abandoned us the moment he found out I was pregnant with a boy. He disappeared without a word, and for almost twenty years, I heard absolutely nothing from him. When my son told me at fifteen that he was gay, I won't lie — it was hard for me at first, but I loved him more than my own confusion, and I accepted him completely.
A few months ago, he introduced me to his boyfriend, and from the very beginning, something about that young man felt off to me. I couldn't explain it, but there was something in his eyes, in the way he spoke, in how carefully he avoided certain questions. Still, I trusted my son and believed he knew who he was choosing.
Then came the wedding.
Everything looked perfect. Everyone was smiling, my son looked happier than I had ever seen him, and I kept telling myself that if he was happy, then I was happy too. But at one point, I accidentally stepped into the restroom and heard a voice coming from one of the stalls.
It was my son's groom.
He was talking to someone on the phone, and then I heard him say the name of my ex-husband. At first, I thought it had to be a coincidence. But suddenly, he must have accidentally turned on speakerphone, because I heard the other man's voice clearly.
It was him.
My son's father.
And when the groom said the next five words, my face went completely pale.
I immediately took out my phone and called the police.
